Supervision
***I’m currently not taking on new supervisees until further notice***
Having regular supervision makes therapy safe and ensures ethical practice. When you receive supervision from someone you can trust and connect with, in a safe and non-judgmental environment, it allows you to reflect and explore your client work in an honest and transparent way. Supervision offers you helpful feedback which enables you to develop professionally and grow as a therapist.
I offer one to one supervision to experienced and newly qualified counsellors working predominantly with a relational and integrative approach. I aim to offer support in all aspects of your client work and facilitate exploration of different interventions and thoughts that you may have not considered.
“Supervision gives us a chance to stand back and reflect; a chance to avoid the easy ways out of blaming others – clients, peers, the organization, society or even oneself; and it can give us a chance to engage in the search for new options, to discover the learning that often emerges from the most difficult situations, and to get support” (Hawkins and Shohet, 2006).
How can we work together?
I offer an Initial Assessment as an opportunity to meet before you commit to therapy. This also gives us a chance to discuss your current difficulties, goals for therapy and see whether we are the best fit for each other.
I also offer reduced fees for students, so please ask for details.
